Is there a minimum rent?

The minimum rent is 7 days, but in vacation season 14 days. Please request for weekend trips.

Do you offer discounts for long term hires?

ELK ReiseMobile provides variuos discounts starting from a rental period of 2 weeks.

Please contact us for more information about long term rental.

Are transfers available?

We offer a vehicle transfer within a radius of 50 km and from Monday (till 5 pm) to Friday (till 12 am). Please ask for a transfer for Friday afternoon and Saturday. For this service we charge 75,- €.

We pick up all guests at the munich airport (MUC) for a fixed price of 75,- €.

The camper needs a repair. What should I do?

Please inform us about every caused damage.

You can order repairs of Knaus and Weinsberg vehicles at a FIAT retailer. All vehicle repairs are included in your insurance. Please pay ahead and we will bill it at the return.

For VW vehicles you can order repairs at a price of 150,- €. If there are appropriate costs, please contact us at first. Keep the bill with you.

When do I pay the rental price, the security deposit and other payments?

Commission

After the confirmation of your reservation, please pay the commission within 7 days. The commission amount is 20 % of your rental price. If you doesn’t meet deadline and grace period, we will cancel your booking without notice.

Remaining amount

Please pay the remaining amount and service charge due 28 days before the rental start.

Service deposit

Please pay the service duration (1.500 €) with bank transfer, EC-card or credit card.

other payments

Gas cost, toll, campingground cost, parking bay cost, fines, other penalty charge borne by the renter.

When do I pay the commission?

After the confirmation of your reservation, please pay the commission within 7 days. The commission amount is 20 % of your rental price. If you doesn’t meet deadline and grace period, we will cancel your booking without notice.

Please pay the remaining amount and service charge due 14 days before the rental start.

Can I change the renting term?

The declared rental time is binding. If you want to change your rental, please inform us minimum 60 days before the rental starts. We have to confirm the change in written form as long as there are capacities for a change. Time and calendar year of the rental have to be equal.

The camper is damaged. What can I do?

Please inform us about all damages and losses at the vehicle return. In case you have an accident, please contact +49 (0)8709 / 923923 oder +49 (0)171 / 8515817 immediately. All damages and losses will be deducted by us from the security deposit at the end of your rent.

We recommend the affirmation of your security deposit for 6,- to 16,- € per day.

What should I know by driving the camper?

Please just use the camper on public roads, handle it carefully and by leading technical rules. Use the instruction manuals and handbooks that you find at the vehicle. Lock the vehicle when leaving. Frequently control the availability and road safety of the vehicle, in particular the oil and water level plus tire pressure.

Is smoking allowed?

No. Smoking in almost all of our campers is strictly forbidden. But we provide one single camper for smokers.

What is included in the rental price?

The following benefits are included in all rental prices and the obligatory service charge:

  • 1x gas bottle / 3x gas cartridges (VW)
  • Aqua chem toilet chemicals  and toilet paper for the duration of your hire (depending on model)

  • Bike rack & awning (depending on model)
  • 2 ramps
  • Warning west for each seat
  • Warning triangle
  • First-aid kit
  • Dustpan and brush
  • Spare wheel / tire inflation device
  • Use of all vehicle equipment (fridge, heating, radio und air conditioning)
  • Vehicle-based fluid levels (oil, window cleaner, cooling water etc.)
  • External cleaning after return

Please note that fuel, toll charge, parking charge, camping charge, ferry charge, fines and service charges are NOT included in the rent.

Is there a guarantee to get my booked camper?

There is no average of the booked vehicle. In case the booked vehicle isn’t available by external and unforeseeable reasons, we offer you a comparable one. Please read the rental contract for further conditions.

Can I cancel my rent and is there a cancellation fee?

It is possible to cancel your rent. There are cancellation fees, which apply to all camper bookings. The fees amount depends on the date of the cancellation.

  • more than 45 days – 10 %
  • 15 to 45 days – 45 %
  • 7 to 14 days – 50 %
  • 13 to 1 day – 90 %

In case you doesn’t even pick up the vehicle, the entire rental price is due.

Is the fresh water tank filled?

For reasons of hygiene, we transfer our vehicles with an empty fresh water tank. We offer the fillment of your fresh water tank for 5,00 €. Please note that we assume no liability for the quality of the water. The water of the fresh water tank is not drinkable.

What does my camper comes with and which equipment is rentable?

The equipment of our cars is write down at the website. You can select more equipment, depending on the availability. Please reserve, when you book your camper.

The service charge vor VW vehicles is 100,- € and for other campers 140,- €.

Do I need to refueling before the return?

Please return the camper with a full tank. For each missing liter, we charge 2,20 €.

How do I return the vehicle?

Please return the vehicle at the last rental day from 8 am to 6 pm. Please contact us, if you want to return it earlier.

We will inspect the vehicle for damages and record them in a form. We expect you to report all caused damages and losses. Afterwards you will get your bill and security deposit back.

Please return the vehicle with a full tank, empty toilet and water tanks.  The camper has to be cleaned up. Read our Elk-tip for a clean camper HERE.

How do I clean up the vehicle after rent?

Please clean the vehicle interior by taking note at the following points. We clean the camper for a 130,- € charge, 80,- € for VW. The external cleaning is included in your service charge. If the vehicle isn’t clean enough, we will charge the cleaning.

  • Driver’s cab and floor is clean
  • Handbooks, instruction manual and driver’s documents are complete
  • Floor is brushed and wiped
  • Cupboards and drawers wiped
  • Personal items aren’t at the vehicle
  • Furniture fronts and mirrors clean
  • There is no garbage at the vehicle
  • Toilet is empty and clean
  • Wastewater tank and fresh water tank empty
  • Bathroom clean, no more hair at the overflow
  • Fridge clean, freezer deicing
  • Cooking hob is clean
  • Seating area is built up,  Sitzgruppe ist ordentlich aufgebaut, cushion is clean
  • Matresses are clean and aspirated, please pay attention to hairs
  • Awning is clean
  • Renting equipment is complete
  • Fuel tank is full – Please choose a filling station nearby
How do I collect and return the vehicle?

We make an appointment for the handover a few days before your rental. It’s possible to collect it from Monday to Friday and Friday afternoon and Saturday by appointment. You will get an 45-minute instruction for your vehicle and we answer any questions you may have about the on-board technology and equipment. In addition, all defects in the camper will be documented. Subsequently, the contract will we closed. Please bring the driver’s license and ID card of all registered drivers as well as the deposit of 1,500 € (in cash).

From a rental period of 4 days, days of handover and return are calculated as one rental day. Deviations are possible by arrangement. To start your holiday relaxed, we recommend to drive a short distance on the first day of rental.

How many free kilometers do I have?

You’ll get 300 free kilometers each day. You can book 500 (140,- €) or 1.000 (280,- €) extra kilometers. We will charge you for more kilometers with 0,35 € each.

Which equipment does the campers have?

You find the equipment of our campers at the website. You can select more equipment, depending on the availability. Please reserve, when you book your camper.

The camper comes with bed, stove, seats and table, shower and toilet. The VW vehicles come with bed and outdoor kitchen. The sleeping area is equipped with mattress and mattress covers. All vehicles come with security equipment including warning vests for each seat, warning triangle, first-aid kit, brush and shovel and spare wheel / tyre inflation device.

Please bring your own blankets, pillows and bed sheets as well as towels, sanitary articles, dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and dish liquid. We also offer pots and pans. Please ask.

Should I attend to something by driving to foreign countries?

Trips within Europe usually . Please note that you have to inform yourself about rules and rights of your destination. Be especially aware about camping rules, rules about stopping and staying overnight in cities, at the beach and parking places. Please note entry bans.

Which equipment isn’t included in the rent?

For reasons of hygiene we only supply mattresses and mattress covers. Please bring your own blankets, pillows and bed sheets as well as towels, sanitary articles, dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and dish liquid. We also offer pots and pans. Please ask.

Which documents do I need to collect my vehicle?

A valid driver’s license (through the duration of the rent) and a valid passport of all documented drivers are required.

How do I load the camper?

Our campers have a maximum permitted laden mass of 3.5 tons. Please store the heavy object on the ground and distribute them evenly in your camper.

Will someone show me how to use a camper?

Our service charge includes an instruction of the features of your camper. There you can asked all your questions. The vehicles also contain handbooks and operating manuals.

Where can I park the camper and stay overnight?

Every country has its own traffic rules. Please inform yourself about the rules of your holiday destination and abide by them.

How can I pay?

You can pay in cash, by bank transfer, with debit or credit card. Please pay the security deposit of 1.500 € with bank transfer, EC-card or credit card.

What shall I do in case of damage or accident?

The renter shall report any possible defects to the rental station immediately after taking possession of the vehicle. Please contact +49 (0)8709 / 923923 oder +49 (0)171 / 8515817.

How are the vehicles insured and how much is the retention?

Our campers have a comprehensive or partially coverage. You have to pay 1.500 € maximum per incident, if you’ve got the comprehensive coverage. Please inform us immediately

How much is the security deposit and how do I pay it?

You have to pay the security deposit (1.500 €) before the handover of your camper with bank transfer, EC-card or credit card. If you booked less than 28 days before the rental, you have to pay security deposit and rental price immediately.

There is a security deposit affirmation for 6,- to 16,- € per day.

Do you permit pets?

You find the information on the specific website of our vehicles. Please inform us about bringing your pet before the rental. The pet charge is 7,50 € or 5,00 € (VW) per day. If special cleaning is needed due to the pets behavior, you will be charged for it.

Do I need a special licence to drive a camper?

To rent a camper (until 3,5 t) you must have full driver’s license of class 3/ B. The renter must own it for minimum 12 months and must be at least 21 years of age. In case of doubt, we will test your driving experience.

May I return the car later than the original return date?

Please inform as early as possible, if you have to extend the rental. We charge you for the days, if the vehicle is supposed to be rented to another customer.

How fast does a camper go?

The campers reach speeds around 130 to 150 h/km. VW vehicles reach 170 h/km.

What are the standard policy conditions of insurance?

Enjoy special insurance coverage for the rental of Knaus and Weinsberg vehicles. These exclusive benefits are free for you.
